**Stamina** is a regenerating resource which can be spent to [[universaltech:dash]], [[universaltech:Air Jump]] and [[universaltech:Dash Jump]].
Each character will start off with a set number of stamina bars; how many bars you have depends on the character you have picked. 

You can increase the amount of stamina bars you have by
  * Buying items from the shop that have the //+Stamina// stat on them
  * Obtaining the <rune_movement> Movement [[universaltech:runes|rune]] on the bridge between the side and middle lanes. 
    * The Movement rune gives you +2 extra stamina, and lasts for 160 seconds.

All but seven characters have three base stamina bars
  * <holliday_mm> Holliday, <mcginnis_mm> McGinnis, <vindicta_mm> Vindicta and <bebop_mm> Bebop have two;
  * <grey-talon_mm> Grey Talon, <ivy_mm> Ivy and <vyper_mm> Vyper have four.

Some items do not increase the base number of stamina bars, but instead restore stamina upon certain conditions.

===== Stamina Recovery =====
Stamina bars, when spent, need to recover and regenerate over time. This recovery time can be reduced by 
  * Buying items that have the //+Stamina Recovery// stat 
  * Picking up the <rune_movement> Movement Rune on the bridge between the side and middle lanes. 
    * The <rune_movement> Movement rune gives you +20% to +50% (depending on time) stamina recovery and lasts for 160 seconds.

For most characters, the time taken to recover one stamina bar is five seconds. The one exception to this is <kelvin_mm> [[hero:kelvin|Kelvin]], who takes six seconds to recover one bar of stamina.

There are other ways of quickly regenerating stamina, namely abusing the transit lines to refund stamina that has not been spent, granting you +1 stamina. For further information, see [[universaltech:transit lines#stamina_refunds|Stamina Refunds]].
