This typically is to "snap" you to an acceptable place and usually doesn't result in anything significant. When attempting to attach onto a Transit Line, you gain acceleration. This acceleration allows you to gain speed from attaching, and enables techniques such as Zip Dashes to be executed effectively without riding for a significant amount of time.
When gravitating towards the line, for one tick just before grabbing and entering the riding animation, the game will give you an extreme amount of velocity. This typically is to "snap" you to an acceptable place and usually doesn't result in anything significant. However, if you cancel riding the Transit Line using crouch on this tick, you can transfer this acceleration into an actionable state and use it for movement. This is called **Zip Launching**.
Zip Launching is a one tick action and cannot be buffered. However, there is no penalty aside from time for failing, and you can still Zip Dash or use ZMC for some amount of speed.
Zip Launching heavily depends on the player transit line attachment angle and position relative to the transit line; position yourself perpendicular to corners and bends for the maximum amount of speed. Speed values range from ~1300 to ~5900 u/s.
Zip Launching is an effective rotation tool when executed correctly; multiple consecutive Zip Launches are the fastest way to move and rotate across lanes. Zip Launches can also be an incredible initiation tool in lane.
