Warp Stone is a Tier 3 Weapon Item that costs ( 3,000) with the unique active ability to warp (or teleport) you directly forwards.
When activated, Warp Stone warps you to a base of 11 metres forward in your chosen direction, emitting a distinctive sound as you warp. You can warp in any direction by looking in said direction. Warp Stone could be superficially compared to Dota 2's Blink Dagger; both warp you a set distance in a direction.
When performing on the ground, you will be in the air for a very short amount of time; this allows you to execute actions that are available while in the air (e.g. Air Dashing).
You can warp during a variety of actions. These include:
- Abilities that allow you to use active items.
Warp Stone cannot dodge tracking items or abilities, like the Spirit item Decay or
Wraith’s Telekinesis; when warping while targeted, it will redirect to your current position.
You are not able to use Warp Stone to take or redirect momentum; once you have appeared after your warp, it will kill all velocity on all axes, and will cause you to fall straight back down in the air. This makes it bad for trying to escape in a straight line or in the air, since it makes all previous actions moot and makes future actions predictable. For certain actions, this can instead be beneficial (e.g. <viscous> Viscous’ Goo Ball).
Warp Stone’s teleport range can be extended with items with the +Ability Range statistic. The most teleport range you can get is 18 metres.
Warp Stone is intended to be used as a sort of dodge/juke item, as an engage tool or a repositioning tool:
- To dodge fast moving projectiles,
- Juke actions such as Heavy Melee,
- To get in range to use abilities with limited range (e.g.
Mo & Krill's Combo,
Lady Geist's Soul Exchange)
- To reposition for abilities (e.g.
Kelvin Ice Dome)
Warp Stone only allows you to warp to positions that have a line of sight from where you start from; you are unable to warp through objects or walls. This can cause you to warp into a wall; to avoid this, try not to warp near the corners of walls or nearby objects.
