When cancelling Heavy Melee with any of the four active items that are able to cancel Heavy Melee or any ability true Heavy Melee Cancel, you are able to start another punch immediately by holding the melee key. This results in two Heavy Melee punches (shown as one long punch) , and doubles the distance. This is called a Heavy Melee Cancel Extension1).
This allows you to turn again. This can be useful in tight spaces. It can also be used as bait, tricking your opponents into thinking that your Heavy Melee is about to end.
To execute, keep holding melee (by default Q) when you cancel the Heavy Melee with the active item.
